About
DESIGN // TECHNOLOGY // ENTREPRENEURSHIP
DTech Incorporated is a Career Technical Education (CTE) "pathway" program at Foothill Technology High School in Ventura, California that specializes in design, technology, and entrepreneurship. Our aim is to transform students into designers and small business owners with the skills to produce quality products and sell them on and off campus.
Students in the program will take several courses in the academy pathway. In the spring of freshmen year, students interested in DTech will need to apply by submitting a two part application. Once admitted, students will take DTech Survey their sophomore year where they will learn prototyping skills like CAD, 3D printing, CNC / CAM, electronics, and laser cutting along with project management and business skills.
After sophomore year, most students will specialize in design by taking Honors Digital Media and Design where they will learn the art of typography, photography, video editing, and graphics.
At the end of the high school pathway is our DTech Capstone course. In this course students will combine all of their acquired skills to become revenue generating entrepreneurs. The ultimate goal for the seniors is to raise enough money to help fund a non-profit project like building a water filtration system for a school in Nepal or cleaning up ocean plastic.
